Git Identity Setup

After installing Git, you must configure your identity with your name and Chemeketa email address. This is required for the Chemeketa Worklog extension to create commits while you work in a project template.

To do so, open a terminal and run these commands. Replace the example values with your own name and Chemeketa email address:

git config --global user.name "Your Name"
git config --global user.email "yourname@my.chemeketa.edu"

Verify the settings:

git config --global --list
