Game Development

Anyone interested in a career development should check out these pages on careers in the game industry.

Most people in the game industry get started as either as programmers, artists, or on the business side of the industry. Eventually, those people may move into doing more game design, but that is a role you generally have to work up to. Entry level positions require specific concrete skills in something like programing or art. (No one gets hired to have ideas.)

If you are interested in being a programmer, you will likely need a four-year degree in computer science or software engineering. You can begin that journey in the Computer Science program here at Chemeketa.

If you are interested in some other area of game development, you should look into education related to that particular area (art, music, business, etc...)
